The body of Christ has bought into four great myths in the last decade. The result of which is destroying the church’s effectiveness in the world today. At the beginning of the week, as we read in Matthew 21, the masses were celebrating Jesus as their conquering hero. By the end of the week He was declared a criminal. Junkyards are interesting places. They have automobiles of different eras, makes, and models. It is clear from a single glance the junkyard is not a respecter of persons. Any vehicle can wind up there at any time given the right circumstances. In our lives a single bad decision or even a circumstance beyond our control can cause us to relegate ourselves to a life in the junkyard; a life without purpose, empty, and forgotten. There is hope in God’s word! It promises in Psalm 138:8 that God will perfect His purpose in us because of His mercy regardless of past choices or circumstances. We simply must confess our sin to Him and our dependence upon Him.

David penned Psalm 32 after he was confronted by Nathan the prophet and he confessed his transgressions before God as recorded in Psalm 51. David used this Psalm to teach his readers about the effects of unconfessed sin in the life of God’s children and the necessity of repentance. David’s message is simple; we cannot accomplish the purpose God has for us if we are crippled by sin.
