Not Like Man
Series: general
Numbers 23:19 - God is not a man, that he might lie, or a son of man, that he might change his mind. Does he speak and not act, or promise and not fulfill?

James 1:16-18 - Don’t be deceived, my dear brothers and sisters. Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. By his own choice, he gave us birth by the word of truth so that we would be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

Who Do You Say I Am: Mary Magdalene
Mary Magdalene never got over her encounters with Jesus. From the first moment Jesus rescued her from the seven demons who lived inside her and tormented her, to those six hours being near Jesus as He suffered and died on the cross, to the moment on the first Easter Sunday morning when Jesus spoke to her after He rose from the dead: Mary Magdalene’s life was changed forever by Jesus. Once a person encounters Jesus, that person’s life is never the same again. And the question we are left with, that Jesus, Himself asks, is “Who do you say that I am?”

Who Do You Say I Am: Claudia
Only one solitary verse in all the Bible mentions the wife of Pontius Pilate. Within those few words, her name is not even stated. Matthew’s gospel records her cited cameo in the crucial moments of Jesus’ trial that soon would determine his fate. Court is officially in session when an interruption breaks the concentration of the Roman governor, Pilate. Matthew 27:19 says, “While he was sitting on the judge’s bench, his wife sent word to him, ‘Have nothing to do with that righteous man, for today I’ve suffered terribly in a dream because of him.”’” That’s it. Nothing more is ever mentioned in all the pages of the Bible about Pilate’s wife.
Who was this Claudia? What happened to her because of her dream? What was the source of her dream and how did she suffer from it? What did Claudia believe about Jesus? Who did she say Jesus was? No one truly knows the answers to these questions with certainty. What we do know is she had a dream, which so disturbed her emotionally and mentally, she had to do something even if it meant sacrificing her future.

They did all they could to be noticed by Jesus.

    Demolishing Strongholds
    Series: general
The Apostle Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 10:3-5, " For although we live in the flesh, we do not wage war according to the flesh, since the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but are powerful through God for the demolition of strongholds. We demolish arguments and every proud thing that is raised up against the knowledge of God, and we take every thought captive to obey Christ." In this message we examine the context as well as the application of these words to our lives.

    Hope
    Series: general
Zacharias and Elizabeth had given up hope on having a child. Elizabeth was barren and well beyond child bearing age. This all changed one day as Zacharias served in the temple. An angel appeared to him with a promise from God, "“Do not be afraid, Zacharias, for your prayer is heard; and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John." (Luke 1:13) Zacharias was skeptical, but God delivered on His promise and many lives were changed. No matter how bleak things look, remember as long as God is on the throne there is always hope and hope in Him will never disappoint (Romans 5:5)!
