    The Law Vs. Love
    Series: general
ROC-Picture-Only.gifThe body of Christ has bought into four great myths in the last decade.  The result of which is destroying the church’s effectiveness in the world today.  The greatest of these is that you cannot have love for others and uphold God’s standard at the same time.  In this message we will look at why the law and love are not contradictions, but companions.  For the law was born of love!

Abstract Ink Splash Shining Cross We've often heard the expression “a million to one”; a common anecdote to express the impossibility of a situation or outcome.  In the eyes of the world, the chances Jesus would raise from the dead were a million to one, but on the third day He beat the odds and changed the world forever.

    The Difference A Week Makes
    Series: general
At the beginning of the week, as we read in Matthew 21, the masses were celebrating Jesus as their conquering hero.  By the end of the week He was declared a criminal.  The people wanted a king who would deliver them from the tyranny of the Roman government.  What they got was a savior who died for their sin so they could be reconciled with God.  They wanted a king for the moment not the King of eternity.

ROC-Podcast-Logo.gifJunkyards are interesting places.  They have automobiles of different eras, makes, and models.  It is clear from a single glance the junkyard is not a respecter of persons.  Any vehicle can wind up there at any time given the right circumstances.  In our lives a single bad decision or even a circumstance beyond our control can cause us to relegate ourselves to a life in the junkyard; a life without purpose, empty, and forgotten.  There is hope in God’s word! It promises in Psalm 138:8 that God will perfect His purpose in us because of His mercy regardless of past choices or circumstances.  We simply must confess our sin to Him and our dependence upon Him.

ROC-Podcast-Logo.gifDavid penned Psalm 32 after he was confronted by Nathan the prophet and he confessed his transgressions before God as recorded in Psalm 51.  David used this Psalm to teach his readers about the effects of unconfessed sin in the life of God’s children and the necessity of repentance.  David’s message is simple; we cannot accomplish the purpose God has for us if we are crippled by sin.

    Don’t Play Dead
    Series: general
ROC-Podcast-Logo.gifEphesians chapter two teaches us that we were all spiritually dead in our sins.   We were essentially spiritual zombies wandering around seeking to meet our own needs and desires while ignoring God’s standard.  The good news is as a result of God’s grace He has raised us from the dead and given us new life.  We are no longer dead spiritually and our lives should reflect the inward reality.

ROC-Podcast-Logo.gifTattoos are a mark people have placed on themselves to reflect some aspect of their perceived identity.  The same happens to us as we navigate our lives.  We are tattooed by circumstances, relationships, and the opinions of others; each projecting upon us a mark that we come to believe is a representation of who we are.  Ephesians chapter one teaches us God seals us through the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit and forever marks us as His child.
