May 31, 2015It’s OK To RestBy: Curtis CrawfordSeries: generalOur lives are hectic and we find ourselves working to satisfy the demands of our families, our jobs, and the church. We burn so much energy constantly "doing" that the effectiveness of our work is negatively impacted. We learn in Mark chapter six Jesus understood the importance of rest when He instructed the twelve disciples to find a secluded place and rest after a time of intensive ministry. We cannot pour into the lives of others if we ourselves are running on empty.

May 24, 2015So Close Yet So FarBy: Curtis CrawfordSeries: generalHave you ever stopped to really think about Jesus' answer to the scribe in Mark chapter 12 regarding the greatest commandment? He quotes Deuteronomy and says we are to love the Lord with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength. But what does that mean and how is it demonstrated in our daily lives?

Apr 26, 2015Do You Shine?By: Curtis CrawfordSeries: generalIn Exodus 34 we see Moses descend from Mount Sinai and immediately the people noticed he was shining. The glory of God that surrounded him on the mountain left a literal impact upon Moses himself. Over time, however, the glory of God would fade until Moses went to commune with God once more. In 2 Corinthians three, Paul teaches us that because of the Holy Spirit who now dwells in believers, we should shine permanently and the veil has permanently been removed from our faces. Unfortunately, we sometimes put the veil back in place and do not reflect to the world the inward reality. The question we must ask ourselves is, "Do I Shine?"

Apr 19, 2015Salvation, The Great EqualizerBy: Curtis CrawfordSeries: generalSalvation is the great equalizer of mankind. In Romans chapter three verses ten through eighteen, the Apostle Paul quotes a series of passages from the Old Testament. These verses make it clear that regardless of man's race, social status, or economic status all of mankind is universally wicked. The great truth of scripture is God provides a remedy to our wickedness through the sacrifice of His Son, thus reconciling us to Him.

Apr 12, 2015Simple Belief or Saving FaithBy: Curtis CrawfordSeries: generalA simple belief God exists is not saving faith. Romans 10:9 and 10 defines saving faith as belief leading to repentance, which results in submission of our lives to Jesus Christ as Lord. If we do not submit our lives to Jesus Christ as Lord, we cannot be saved.

Apr 5, 2015Believe and Have LifeBy: Curtis CrawfordSeries: generalAll of us have an innate desire to experience peace, happiness, and fulfillment in our lives. The reason these rewards are so elusive is because we are striving for them apart from the one who created us. If we want true peace, permanent happiness, and fulfillment they can only be found in God and His Son Jesus Christ.
- Mar 29, 2015Our Motivation To Worship
Mar 29, 2015Our Motivation To WorshipBy: Curtis CrawfordSeries: generalOn Palm Sunday so many years ago, we see a crowd gathered to “worship’ Jesus as King. They waved palm branches and laid their cloaks in the street for the donkey to cross over. These were merely outward expressions they thought they had to do, to get the King to do what they wanted Him to do. In contrast, Mary anoints the head and feet of Jesus days earlier in an act of devoted, humble, and sacrificial worship. In this message we contrast these two events and ask ourselves, “What is our motivation to worship?”

Mar 22, 2015A Voice In The WildernessBy: Curtis CrawfordSeries: generalIn our world today, it is imperative the bride of Christ preach the Gospel with authority and with passion. In order to accomplish such a daunting task, we can learn from the life and ministry of John the Baptist. John was separated to God, empowered by the Holy Spirit, humble, and preached true repentance.
